You will be able to understand beautiful French music (The English translation below surely does not do it justice).
No! Nothing at all!
No! I regret nothing!
Neither the good, nor the bad,
It's all the same to me.
No! Nothing at all!
No! I regret nothing!
It's been payed for, swept away, forgotten,
I don't give a damn about the past!
My memories,
I've burnt them all,
My sorrows, my pleasures,
I don't need them anymore.
My love affairs, with the tremblings they caused,
I've swept them away forever,
I'm starting from scratch!
No! Nothing at all!
No! I regret nothing!
Neither the good, nor the bad,
It's all the same to me.
For my life, my joys,
Today, they start with you!

You know I read her autobiography way before "La Vie en Rose" came out. Lol, a little ironic, one of my dad's friends was throwing away books and I stumbled upon it and 'saved' it (Hmmm, this was like in '99 when I used to be productive during summers instead of watching "The Real World"...wait...that might be inaccurate). If you haven't read it, I totally recommend reading it en francais. She had quite the life!
ReplyDeleteP.S: Haven't seen the film yet, but I want to. Long live Madame Piaf!
You...haven't...seen...the...movie....?

Please get to a blockbuster ASAP. It's honestly one of the best movies I have ever seen. However you do get points for being years ahead of me with the biography. I'm adding it to my list.
This inspires me to sing again :)
ReplyDeleteLove that song
