Today at approximately 3:45PM I received an e-mail from the Japanese Embassy in Trinidad which started off with the words that I have waited for months upon months to hear:
"...it is our great pleasure to announce that you have been accepted as a participant for the 2011 JET Programme."
So there you go folks - I'm in! Which means that just shy of four months from now I will be far away from my sunny Caribbean homeland and would have been transplanted to Japanese soil. Can you believe it? Don't worry, neither can I.
Please stay tuned, there is so much more to come! And a brand new blog to go with it!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words and I'm really happy that you enjoyed the Patois blog. I'm planning on updating it as soon as I get settled in Japan (which might take quite some time lol). Ok well I'm actually not one hundred percent sure about the origin of the word 'pelau'. If my memory serves me right I actually think it's a word of Indian origin but not sure which language it comes from (Hindi, Bhojpuri etc)
